Before beginning, you should confirm that the server and client computers meet the minimum system requirements.
1. Install RezOvation GT on the server.
2. Enter your network license key by selecting Help > About and selecting the link to add users.
3. Install the clients:
- Install the .NET 2.0 Framework if it is not present. This is required to run RezOvation GT. You can download from the Microsoft website, or install using Windows Update.
To install through Windows Update:
- go to http://www.update.microsoft.com. If prompted, install or run the ActiveX control. Note that you must use Internet Explorer to access this website.
- Click the "Custom" button, and install the Windows Genuine Advantage Tool if prompted.
- From the left-hand menu, select "Software, Optional".
- Select ".NET 2.0 Framework".
- Create a folder on the client called RezOvation GT. This folder can be located anywhere on the client, but is typically located on the C:\ drive, so the path would be C:\RezOvation GT\.
- Go to the server and open C:\Program Files\RezOvation\RezOvation GT\. Copy RezOvationGT.exe to the RezOvation GT folder on the client. Alternatively, you can download the RezOvationGT.exe loader application.
- Right-click on RezOvationGT.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut).
- Right-click on the desktop shortcut you just created and select Properties. Select the Shortcut tab, and select the Target box. Enter the server name and port number after the Target address in the format SERVERNAME: PORT where SERVERNAME = the computer name of the server and PORT = 7412. It should look like this:
C:\RezOvation GT\RezOvationGT.exe SERVER:7412
4. Launch the shortcut on the client and verify that it can connect to the server. If you have problems connecting, check the shortcut address to confirm that it is correct, and make sure that if you have a firewall on either the client or the server, you allow access to TCP port 7412.
5. Add user accounts under Configuration > Users for each user that you have. If you wish you can restrict the user access level by selecting the appropriate options.
Note: that creating user accounts is not required if you do not wish to track users.
