How does the automatic backup process work?
If you have an internet connection, you can enable the automatic backup feature in RezOvation GT from the '''Configuration''' screen by enabling the '''RezOvation Server Sync''' option.
Once the RezOvation Server Sync has been enabled, your data is backed up to our servers in real-time, every time a change is made. The initial backup process will take a few hours to complete, but during this time you can continue to use RezOvation GT. After the initial backup process has completed, every change you made is synchronized to the RezOvation servers, so if you lose your hard drive or your computer dies, you will be able to restore your data from the moment just before your computer crashed. You don't lose a thing!
Why do you provide automated backups?
We provide automated, real-time backup because we understand how important your data is. Older software programs such as Guest Tracker crashed quite often and when they crashed data was often lost. We want you to feel confident that you will never lose any data, and with RezOvation GT’s automatic backup to our redundant and secure servers, we can provide a level of confidence never before available in a property management software package.
Note: real-time automatic backup is only available with a Basic Service or Booking Engine contract.
Why can’t I make my own backup?
RezOvation GT constantly backs up your data to our secure server and has a real-time snapshot so that if your computer goes down or some other event occurs, you will be able to restore to exactly the same point where you left off. If you were to also store a backup on your computer, and then restore this backup, it would be out of date and as a result your valuable data would be lost.
What happens if my internet connection goes down during the backup process?
Your data is backed up to our servers incrementally, in real-time. If your internet connection goes down, your data is still intact on our servers, and is current up to the point at which you were last connected to the internet. As soon as your internet connection returns, all new data will be backed up. There is no possibility for data corruption, so even if you have an unstable internet connection, you can still take advantage of our automatic backup feature!
How do I restore a backup?
Simply install RezOvation GT, enter your unique activation key, and your data will be restored securely over the Internet. This also allows you to easily move your data to another computer should you need to.
What guarantees do you offer that my data is secure and will not be lost?
We use multiple redundant servers in multiple secure data centers along with uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) and generator backups. So, your data is always safe and always accessible whenever you need to restore a backup.
